Nissan Note — a compact and reliable car, but even in it fuses periodically blow out. Without a diagram of the blocks and an understanding of their purpose, diagnosing electrical equipment turns into guessing with tea leaves. In this article you will find exact fuse diagrams for Nissan Note first (E11, 2004–2012) and second (E12, 2012–2020) generations, decoding of each element, as well as step by step instructions for replacement, taking into account typical errors.
We will not just list the purpose of fuses - we will explain how to associate symptoms of a malfunction (for example, non-working headlights or failure of power windows) with a specific fuse, and we will also give advice on relay diagnosticswhich are often ignored. At the end of the article there are answers to frequently asked questions and unique fuse compatibility table between Note generations.
Where are the fuse boxes in Nissan Note?
B Nissan Note provided two main fuse boxes:
- 🔧 Main unit in the cabin — located to the left of the steering column, under the plastic cover. Access to it opens after turning three latches (on models before 2012 - two).
- 🚗 Additional block under the hood — located next to the battery (on E11) or in a special compartment near the windshield (on E12). The lid is secured with latches.
On Note E12 (restyling 2016+) the main interior unit can be hidden under the decorative panel - it needs to be carefully pryed off with a flat-blade screwdriver, starting from the bottom corner. Don't use force: the plastic is fragile, and replacing the panel will cost 3–5 thousand rubles.
In some configurations (for example, Note 1.5 dCi) a third mini-block with fuses for the injection system is installed under the hood. It is located on a bracket near the air duct and is often covered with a layer of dirt - clean the contacts with alcohol before checking.

Diagram and decoding of the cabin unit fuses
The salon unit contains fuses and relays, responsible for most comfort and safety systems. Below is the diagram for Nissan Note E11 (2004–2012) - for E12 the location is similar, but some fuse numbers may differ (see compatibility table at the end of the article).
Please note: the current diagram for your modification is printed on the block cover. If the markings are erased, use our table:
| Fuse no. | Denomination (A) | Purpose | Symptoms of a problem |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 10 | Engine control unit (ECU), immobilizer | The engine does not start, the immobilizer indicator blinks |
| 7 | 15 | Cigarette lighter, 12V socket | Cigarette lighter does not work, devices do not charge |
| 12 | 20 | Window lifters (all 4 doors) | Glass does not move or operates jerkily |
| 18 | 10 | Dashboard lighting, brightness control | Devices are not illuminated, brightness adjustment does not work |
| 23 | 15 | Audio system, navigation (if installed) | The radio does not turn on, there is no sound |
⚠️ Attention: fuse No. 1 (10A) responsible for nutrition ECU. If it burns out, the engine will not start and the indicator will light up on the dashboard. CHECK ENGINE. Do not replace it with a higher rated fuse. - this can damage the control unit (repairs will cost 15–25 thousand rubles).
The relays in the cabin unit are located to the right of the fuses. The most problematic:
- 🔋 Relay K1 — heater fan. If the stove does not work, check its contacts (they often oxidize).
- 💡 Relay K5 - low beam headlights. When faulty, the headlights flicker or do not turn on.
- 🚪 Relay K9 — central locking. If the doors do not open with the key fob, check this relay and fuse No. 10 (10A).
Before replacing the relay, try tapping it with the handle of a screwdriver - sometimes the contacts “stick” due to vibration, and this temporarily restores operation.
Engine compartment fuse diagram
Engine compartment block Nissan Note contains fuses and relays associated with power electrics: starter, generator, injection system, cooling fans. On E11 it is located on the positive terminal of the battery (under the red cap), on E12 — in a separate plastic box near the windshield.
Key fuses for the engine compartment:
| № | Denomination (A) | Purpose | Consequences of burnout |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30 | 100 | Main fuse (megafuse) | Complete blackout of the car |
| 32 | 40 | Electric cooling fan | Engine overheating, lights up CHECK COOLANT |
| 35 | 30 | Fuel pump (petrol)/Glow plugs (diesel) | The engine does not start or stalls |
| 41 | 15 | ABS, stability control system | The indicator is on ABS, the brake pedal vibrates |
⚠️ Attention: fuse No. 30 (100A) - this is megafuse, responsible for all electrical equipment. If it burns out, the car will be completely de-energized. Reasons: short circuit in the starter, generator or battery circuit. Do not install homemade jumpers - this may cause a fire!
On diesel versions (Note 1.5 dCi) there is a separate fuse under the hood for fuel pump control unit (number 45, 20A). If the engine stalls while driving, check it first - this is a typical problem for diesel engines after 150 thousand km.
How to check megafuse without a multimeter?
If the megafuse (#30) is burned out, its body will often swell or melt. Visually inspect the fuse for black burn marks or breaks in the metal plate. As a last resort, you can temporarily replace it with a known good one (for example, from the fuse box of another car), but only for diagnostics!
How to check and replace a fuse: step-by-step instructions
Replacing the fuse in Nissan Note takes 5–10 minutes, but requires care. Never use metal objects (screwdrivers, knives) for removal - this may short the contacts.
☑️ Preparing to replace the fuse
Step by step instructions:
- Identify the faulty fuse by symptoms (see tables above) or visually - a blown fuse has
broken metal threador melted body. - Remove the fuse special tweezers (included in the unit) or pliers with insulated handles. Pull straight up without loosening.
- Check the circuit multimeter in test mode or replace the fuse with a new one same denomination.
- Turn on the ignition and check the system operation. If the fuse blows again - in the circuit short circuit (diagnostics needed).
⚠️ Attention: If after replacing the fuse No. 35 (30A, fuel pump) burns out again do not restart the engine - this can damage the pump (the cost of a new one is 8-12 thousand rubles). Check the wiring from the pump to ECU for a short circuit.
To check the fuse without a multimeter, you can use control lamp (12V). Connect one lamp contact to ground, and the second one in turn to the fuse terminals. If the lamp lights up on both terminals, the fuse is good.
If the fuse blows repeatedly, the problem is not the fuse, but a short circuit or overload in the circuit. Diagnose the wiring or device connected to this circuit (such as a radio or air conditioning compressor).
Typical fuse problems and their solutions
Owners Nissan Note often encounter recurrent fuses blown. Let's look at the most common cases and ways to eliminate them.
1. The cigarette lighter fuse (No. 7, 15A) blows when connecting devices
- 🔌 Reason: Use of powerful devices (compressors, inverters) or short circuit in the socket.
- 🛠️ Solution: Check the outlet for melting. If the problem is in the device, use a splitter with a fuse.
2. The power window fuse (No. 12, 20A) burns out when the glass moves
- 🚪 Reason: Worn window motors or jamming of the mechanism (for example, due to icing).
- 🛠️ Solution: Lubricate the glass guides with silicone grease. If the motor consumes too much current, replace it (part number for Note E11:
28530-4M000).
3. Cooling fan fuse (No. 32, 40A) blows in summer
- 🌡️ Reason: Short circuit in the fan circuit or malfunction of the temperature sensor.
- 🛠️ Solution: Check the fan connector for corrosion. If the temperature sensor is faulty, replace it (cost: 800–1,200 rubles).
⚠️ Attention: If in Nissan Note E12 after replacing the fuse No. 41 (15A, ABS) the indicator on the dashboard is on ABS, but the brakes work fine, the reason may be oxidized contacts of the speed sensor connector. Peel them and apply contact lubricant (For example, CRC 2-26).
Fuse compatibility between Note generations
Many fuses in Nissan Note E11 And E12 interchangeable, but there are also differences. Below is a compatibility table for key elements:
| Function | E11 (2004–2012) | E12 (2012–2020) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Low beam (right headlight) | No. 14 (10A) | No. 15 (10A) | A separate fuse for DRLs has been added to the E12 |
| Audio system | No. 23 (15A) | No. 25 (15A) | On E12 the fuse also protects the rear view camera |
| Window lifters | No. 12 (20A) | No. 13 (20A) | On E12, a fuse for heated mirrors has been added (No. 14, 10A) |
| Fuel pump | No. 35 (15A) | No. 37 (20A) | On E12 the rating is increased due to a change in pump design |
Important: Fuses for Nissan Note e-Power (hybrid version) have a different circuit! In particular, fuses have been added for the inverter (No. 50, 80A) and the recovery system (No. 51, 30A). Do not use diagrams for petrol/diesel versions.
Frequently asked questions about Nissan Note fuses
Which fuse controls the heated seats?
B Nissan Note E12 (2012+) the fuse is responsible for the heated seats No. 28 (15A) in the salon block. On E11 This function is rare, but if it exists, the fuse is located under number No. 20 (10A).
If the heating does not work, also check the relay K11 and the circuit for a break (the wires under the seat often fray).
Is it possible to replace the fuse with a higher rating?
Absolutely not. For example, if instead 10A install 15A, this can lead to:
- 🔥 Melting wiring (especially dangerous for chains ECU or ABS).
- 💥 Device failure (for example, power window control unit).
If a fuse keeps blowing, look for the cause (short circuit or faulty device) rather than increasing the rating.
Where can I find a fuse diagram for my Note modification?
The diagram is shown on back of the fuse box cover. If it is erased:
- 📄 For E11 download the manual this link (section
Electrical Wiring Diagram). - 📱 For E12 use the app Nissan Service Manual (available on Google Play).
You can also find diagrams on forums (for example, NoteClub.ru), indicating year of manufacture and equipment.
Why does the radio not work after replacing the fuse?
Probable reasons:
- fuse No. 23/25 (15A) does not contact the connector (check if it is bent).
- Burnt out amplifier fuse (if a premium audio system is installed). It is located separately, next to the radio.
- The radio settings have been reset. On some models, after de-energizing, you must enter a code (indicated in the service book).
If the radio does not turn on at all, check positive wire (orange) check for voltage with a multimeter.
How to protect fuses from oxidation?
Humidity and temperature changes lead to corrosion of contacts. To prevent this:
- 🧴 Apply to the contacts of the block dielectric grease (For example, Liqui Moly Electronic-Spray).
- 🌬️ Periodically blow the unit with compressed air (especially after washing).
- 🔌 If the car is often parked on the street, install desiccant (silica gel) in the cabin next to the unit.
⚠️ Do not use WD-40 for cleaning contacts - it leaves a film that impairs conductivity.
